Cynthia is back for another installment of Weekend Writing Warriors.
“It’s simple and fun. Sign the linky, then on Sunday, post 8 sentences from a current writing project, published or unpublished. Visit other participants and offer opinions, critiques, support. Writers hanging out with writers, a good time with a great group of people.”
Her first thoughts settled on Dex, and the callous way he left her behind in favor of his career. Let him be! He never cared for you anyway. Still, his complete silence toward her since that day left the wound unable to heal.
She next thought of the way the city changed. The citizens took on darker dispositions. Once they felt bound to each other for the simple fact that they survived. Now, with everything crumbling around them, they only thought of their wants and needs. It was one reason why she rarely went outside.
Hmm, your heroine's thoughts are certainly running along a dark tangent, but intriguing, especially about her rarely going outside.
Very interesting. I want to know more!
I'm intrigued!
You describe a realistic scene… probably more realistic than most people realize. His sudden silence, leaving her with an open heart wound… he sounds sociopathic. No wonder she wants to leave the house as rarely as possible… I look forward to coming back for more!
Thank you! There's definitely more to come.
I'm glad to hear it!
Thank you!
Happy to hear it. Oddly enough I never saw Cynthia as a heroine until you mentioned it. But thank you!
She seems so lonely.
