Weekend Writing Warriors: Dex and Lilith 3

Weekend Writing Warriors is back, with a continuation of Jasper.

It’s simple and fun. Sign the linky list with your name, blog url and email address on Mondays, 8:00 AM EST. Each week, the list remains open until Saturday, 11:59 PM. Then on Sunday, post 8 sentences from a current writing project, published or unpublished. Visit other participants and offer opinions, critiques, support. Writers hanging out with writers, a good time with a great group of people.

This picks up right where the previous scene leaves off.

“Honey, I’m stuck in the house all hours of the day to take care of Natalie.  I don’t know what’s going on in the city save what you tell me.  If you’re looking for advice, I’m the wrong person to ask.”

Nobody else will help me.”

“So stop trying to find help.  You’re the Captain now.  Whatever happens is your call.”

Dex fell quiet, at first not understanding.

  1. Interesting! This is the first bit I’ve read of this piece and it is interesting. Why on earth would the captain be asking the stay-at-home SO for help on city business? And what a slap in the fact to hear “hey, you’r that captain, it’s your call”! Great tension here. Someone needs to up their game I think! 🙂
