Once again, not to be confused with the movies. I’m not announcing a sequel here.
I “won” NaNoWriMo on the 23rd and finished up my draft of Jasper. I’m letting it breathe for a couple of weeks until I open it again for proofreading. If it’s as good as I think it is, I may be completely finished with it by the end of the year.
And with that, I have a new Weekend Writing Warriors entry.
It’s simple and fun. Sign the linky list with your name, blog url and email address on Mondays, 8:00 AM EST. Each week, the list remains open until Saturday, 11:59 PM. Then on Sunday, post 8 sentences from a current writing project, published or unpublished. Visit other participants and offer opinions, critiques, support. Writers hanging out with writers, a good time with a great group of people.
Last week’s comments were unanimous votes to storm the fortress. I’m happy to say you guessed correctly. (Or perhaps I should be teh happy one not to let readers down?)
He made his decision. “Tank One, open fire.”
The blast came two seconds later, and it felt much too long. But the shockwave was strong enough that Dex felt it through the window. The other soldiers in his car flinched, and leaned forward and watched with sincere fascination. From other cars, he heard some of the men cheer.
“Hold fire,” Dex said into the radio. He waited to see how the robots would react.
Robots, explosions, fire all in eight sentences. Terrific. and what happens next? A cliff hanger here.
Hmmm, how will the robots react? Can’t wait to see…Great, action packed excerpt!
I wonder if that cheer was premature!
